Chester Ceramics Fair began with a simple idea: to bring people together through a shared love of ceramics.

Not just to buy beautiful pots, but to meet the people who make them, hear their stories, discover what inspires them and understand a little more about the wonderful world of clay.

Because behind every handmade piece is a person, a process and a story.

Over the coming months, we’ll be introducing you to ceramicists and potters, visiting studios, chatting to makers about their work and inspiration, and sharing some of the fascinating things we discover along the way.

We’ll also be exploring ceramics more broadly – from different clay bodies and glazing techniques to the things that make handmade ceramics so special.

Some stories will come from established makers. Others might introduce you to someone you’ve never heard of before. And we’ll be keeping an eye out for emerging ceramicists and new creative voices too.
