Chester ceramics fair

Supporting ceramics' next generation

At each fair, we reserve a fully funded exhibitor place for a ceramic artist who has been practising independently for less than one year.

The New Potter Place is designed to give emerging talent an encouraging first opportunity to present work, meet visitors and become part of the wider ceramics community.

You do not need an established business or an extensive exhibition history. We are looking for originality, enthusiasm and a developing personal voice.

A little space for a new ceramicist to be discovered.

We know how exciting - and sometimes daunting - those first steps into selling your ceramics can be.
That’s why we’re offering one free exhibitor place at Chester Ceramics Fair to a new ceramicist who has started their creative journey within the last year. There’s no need to have years of experience, a huge collection or a polished studio setup. We’re interested in your story, your work and where you’re heading next.

The New Potter Place is completely free and includes a 6ft x 3ft exhibitor space at the fair.

Next event:

Preference will be given to ceramicists based in Chester and the surrounding area, within approximately 25 miles of the city. The successful applicant will also receive an Exhibitor Directory profile and display board space, giving visitors another opportunity to discover your work.

Applications are open throughout September, with submissions closing on 30 September.
